A three-month investigation of restaurants, wine bars and grocery stores has resulted in Italian authorities seizing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of falsely-labelled bottles of Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti Classico.
The scam was fairly widespread, and may have involved other regions of the country, as well as cases exported to Canada and the U.S.
